There are many times as Christians we are called to intercede for others. You have heard it said so many times in your life “I am praying for you” or “I had you in my prayers”. People who say that may use it at times as an excuse and others mean it sincerely.
But, regardless of their intentions, the Bible does teach us that there are many ways to call upon the Name of the Lord. Some ask or petition, others pray, some intercede, and yet others groan and cry.
These deep feelings of lamentation are alien to the human soul and are divine by nature. They are so profound that most of us feel like we have been to a funeral, and at other times it drops us to our knees or floor speechless. And, the only thing which we can say is expressed in tears!
Romans 8:26-27
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God
