One Minute with God: Dig deep

There is a type of pain that grieves the human spirit which is dangerous when it is incubated or unleashed, and that can cause collateral damage even to the innocent. From road rage to a domestic argument, and even a bad dose of jealousy can weigh on the spirit of a man.

As you and I become privy to the insidious events happening in our nation, and even in our own backyard. We must exercise an enormous amount of restraint, and continual forgiveness in order that we can continue to perform our duties with honor, dignity, and respect.

We all know it is not easy to witness the demoralizing behavior of those we serve. But, the most dangerous battle we face is to yield to what is evil. We must anchor down and embrace those things we value, dig deep in our true faith, and never abandon those things which God calls sacred.

Dig deep!

Romans 12:17-21

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20On the contrary:

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
