In America, and throughout the world, it seems as though temples are being erected as quickly as they are being demolished. Every day it is heard throughout the Christian news that another place of worship is being sold or closed down. Jesús once said, “destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again”. But what temple did he really mean, since there has not been a temple in Jerusalem since 70AD?
Spending millions of dollars and getting into insurmountable debts to beautify or legitimize ministries was not what Christ died for. He didn’t die to rebuild a temple made by human hands but for a people called his own (his Church). Today many have confused “Church” for a “sanctuary”. The Church was never supposed to be identified by a building but rather by the content of their faith in Christ.
Elders and Pastors let’s refocus our attention on what really matters, souls!
1 Peter 2:4-5
4 As you come to him, the living Stone rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
