Pride, self-indulgence, me's, and the I's, the self-centered, the self-sufficiency, the vengeance, and the criticism against our brothers and even our enemies are just some of the ways that we exalt ourselves above God and his Word.
God has given us the beauty of his Word, and His Son to reveal to us the importance of humility and obedience. God speaks of obedience as an act of love toward him and his sovereignty, and humility as a way of life to the believer. Not false humility, but one who acknowledges that no-one can act, or take the place of God.
