It causes unwanted tears, it hurts like branches being cut from a tree. The soul also needs to be pruned, until it reaches the obedience and likeness of Christ. When the time of this season is complete, and the spiritual ligaments that hold this body together have been strengthened, it produces a wonderful shade for its fruits and for others desiring its wisdom.
It is a wonderful work, isn’t it? That this beautiful healing is done by a surgeon who knows us and loves us. Like a tree standing watch let the showers fall, the seasons come, and the storms blow. But, because I was built like a tree, I will remain strong in the faith because my roots are deep and my life is purposed in his works. I will give forth beautiful colors in season, and never stop producing leaves and fruit for its maker.
For I have been found with other friends in this marvelous garden, and encourage my friends to remain strong and focus on the skies above because it shall rain upon us again, and we shall be refreshed again and sing praises as our branches wave to the heights above to him who looks down upon us from this vineyard.
Romans 11:17-22
17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. 22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness.

Lord my sincere prayer is that you may always create in me a “single mind”. For you said, “ a double-minded person will receive nothing from the Lord, that person is tossed and unstable in all his ways and all he/she does”.
So I invite you to prune and cut off any double-mindedness from me and from those I love and care for so that we may receive from you what you promised. In Christ, I pray.
Amen.
