  • Sounds of My Writings: Close the Door to your Closet

Somethings are best done in private. Whenever you desire to pray or be used in some kind of way by God, it is best that you learn from the patriarchs and founders of the faith. For there are moments when “numbers” become a distraction. Your faith is a virtue that is proven by what it produces in secret and not by what you desire others to see. It is important that in the age of media, you be careful of receiving praise for what God did in your life in secret! Matthew 6:5-8 - How to pray 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him Acts 9:36-42 - Miracles 36 In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor. 37 About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room. 38 Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Please come at once!” 39 Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them. 40 Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. 41 He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. 42 This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • The Sounds of My Writings: My Sabbath Prayer

For how I wish to speak, but I can’t, my heart is mixed with peace but also sorrow. Because, I grieve for the souls of those who are crying in silence, who eager to see their salvation and their God move with might and power to rescue them from the grips of their troubles. Oh, that they may know the Lord thy God that he is tender to the broken-hearted and swift to those who call on his name. Jesus, heal today and give strength to the weary and faint. That they may come to know you, their salvation. May this be their day of rest, equal to that of the strong! Jeremiah 15:19-21 19 Therefore this is what the Lord says: “If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman. Let these people turn to you, but you must not turn to them. 20 I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to rescue and save you,” declares the Lord. 21 “I will save you from the hands of the wicked and deliver you from the grasp of the cruel.” #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Selfies

"By their fruits, you shall know them." It is important that in the times we are living in, that we as children of God possess spiritual discernment. Many of us, and those we serve, may be suffering from the “Judas Syndrome”. There are individuals that are deceived by their own vainglory and are operating as though they are blessed and highly favored. But, at the root of their soul issues, it’s all about SELFIES. Jesus never said “by their gifts, you shall them” but rather by their “fruits”. Check yourself, and discern correctly what Spirit is operating in your life and those around you. Galatians 5:22-26 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentlenesses, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • The Sound of My Writings: The State of the “World Affairs”

There is a “truth” that the “world” follows which resonates true to its own ears. It’s culprits have learned the art of speaking out, microphones, mass media, and false news. They have shifted the hearts of men, cultures, and societies in symphonic sympathies which have blinded the goodness of heart and the innocence of spirit. The tickle of those with itching ears listens to their messages. They have changed the meaning of many words, principles, and values in the pages of their own scriptures called the “dictionary”. But, they have not changed the truths and hearts of the godly and their sacred book called the “Bible”. Let’s return family, friends, and beloved to the “holy scriptures” and let it’s letters create a new song in our hearts with melodies of truth that sets you and I free. Return to God! Romans 1:18-32 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way, the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Doubting

"I believe, but help my unbelief." What do you do, when you or your loved one faces doubts and challenges beyond compare? When life doesn't usher in all that you expected or you thought it had promised? God understands your humanity. You and I don’t always have to be strong and have it all together. If that were so we wouldn’t need Christ. The scriptures teach that “in your weakness, God is made strong”. When you find yourself struggling with doubt, fear, and frustration reach out to your holy hands and touch God, with your worship! Remember what Christ did on the cross as he laid out his hands and feet in the greatest act of love and worship. Touch him! Luke 24:36-39 36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Road to Emmaus

Road to Emmaus - Learning to walk with God After the suffering, sacrifice, and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus appears to two disciples on the “Road to Emmaus”. This journey was filled with concern, confusion, pain, and fear but the journey of faith began and there was no way around it! Anyone endeavoring to be called a disciple of Christ has to trust in God’s Words and learn to walk with him. Keeping God’s words in your mouth, meditate on it day and night can warm the springs of your heart. Luke 24:13-17 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16 but they were kept from recognizing him. 17 He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?” #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • The Sounds of My Writings: See, Your Seed

A “sower” should never question the size of the seed that is in his/her hand. No matter how small or insignificant your seed may seem, never underestimate what God can do with it. For it is God who sends the rains from above and causes the sun to shine upon your land (soil) making it fruitful. Continue to sow the seed of God’s word and his love to others and see the harvest it will bare. Your seed is never too small. Luke 14:18-21 18 Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches.” 20 Again he asked, “What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? 21 It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.” #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • The Sounds of My Writings: Raise Your Staff

Have we missed it? Have we as children of God and Elders laid dormant our staff and hands because of weariness? Is it simply because we have fallen asleep? Have we forgotten the authority as sons and daughters of God that we have allowed the forces of wickedness and evil, and their schemes and systems to lay waste the Glory of God in/on our land? You and I must not only pray but exercise the authority to raise our staff and hands to command the waters and their currents of wickedness to cease. For as the waters in Exodus were called the Red Sea, our streets have been flooded with the blood of the innocent and we have been called to raise our staff and hands to command a way where there seems to be no way. I dare you to awaken and raise your “staff” of authority and your holy “hands” in worship to command the evil currents of our time to cease. It is time to Pass-over! Exodus 14:15-22 15Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #iamministries #andyfernandez

  • Sounds of My Writings: The Hippo in Hypocrisy

Large breasts aren’t they, with incredible ability to remain under “water” for a lengthy period of time waiting for its prey or next meal. Their jaws are stronger than that of an alligator and yet their skin is as tough as leather. Their appetite is never satisfied and they linger around lethargically to catch you by surprise. And so it is with religious individuals called the “Pharisees” who dress in garments of innocence and godliness but who work evil intent against the body of Christ. Their hearts have become callused with un-forgiveness and they have not produced the fruits of repentance. They feast on criticism and judgments, all the while not viewing nor reviewing their own shortcomings and sin. We are not talking about those saints who are called to discernment and prayer for the reconciliation of a soul, but rather those individuals who judge others and don’t allow them the opportunity to be reconciled to God through Christ. Let’s put to fast, the hippo in our lives! Luke 12:1-3 Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousand had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed or hidden that will not be made known. 3 What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. #soundsofmywritings #iamministries #onminutewithgod #andyfernandez

  • Quotes by Pastor Andy Fernandez

"Mammon says every individual is the potential to make money. God says every individual is created in his image and likeness." Matthew 6:4 4“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: More Than Your Tithe

Ever sensed as though your giving is not producing breakthrough? For many years you and I have been taught that by giving to God your tithe or offering you are promised wealth, health, and prosperity. Too often as a Pastor, I’ve had to address two distant behaviors that are harming the body of Christ and believers across the world as they give. The first is, you and I can not adopt an ideology that claims that somehow we can “purchase” a blessing. By giving to the work of God, your giving should be a “cheerful” act of worship that reaches the heart of God. You and I can not hold claim to divine riches as though God is indebted to us. This attitude will certainly kill any hope of seeing any breakthrough. God prefers your heart rather than your money. So give cheerfully. The second is, your financial giving can not mask or disguise your moral responsibility or lifestyle. Far too many people have become deceived that by giving to God or the work of God, this makes them righteous and God is pleased. Your righteousness is determined by your relationship with God and man, through Christ Jesus. So in your cheerful giving, do not neglect to do what is morally right in the eyes of God, now begin praying for a breakthrough. Luke 11:42-46 42 “Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone. 43 “Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and respectful greetings in the marketplaces. 44 “Woe to you, because you are like unmarked graves, which people walk over without knowing it.” 45 One of the experts in the law answered him, “Teacher when you say these things, you insult us also.” 46 Jesus replied, “And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #iamministries #andyfernandez

  • Reflections: Introducing simplicity

Being concerned, distracted, or preoccupied about things, doesn’t add a day more to your life. You will notice that if you are intentional with keeping matters simple you will get a lot more done. Begin by removing the clutter, and hearing God utter. Luke 10:40-42 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
