  • One Minute with God: One Word

One Word from the mouth of God is greater than 10,000 words spoken from the best orators on earth. For the words of earthly men may only stimulate us for a moment. But, the Word of God will bring forth life, transformational power, and a light unto the feet of all men. When the cochlea echos the sounds of truth, and that truth vibrates to our heart - it has the power to heal and even set a person free from anything that may be binding them. Truth is not subjective, nor are God’s Words simply impressions. But, rather it is a person called Christ. For nothing can speak unless it has a mouth. And, if it has a mouth - it has a face. And, if it has a face - it has a body. And, if it has a body - it is a person. And, if it is a person - then He has a personality. And, if He has a personality - then He has a purpose and a will. Did you know that God is more than a celestial being somewhere in the universe? He is more than an unseen spirit that roams the earth. But, rather He is a person who desires to be known, and be heard by those who are willing. Receive One Word today. Believe! John 1:1-4 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Sight to the Blind

What would it be like to suffer from blindness? To be unable to enjoy or even imagine the colors of the mountains in the fall, or see the face of a loved one as they walk down the aisle, or take in the breathtaking scenery of the sunset. Like blinders on a horse’s bridle or a veil draped over someone’s eyes - is also the effects of anyone who may be suffering from spiritual obtuseness. How can it be possible that God promises to actively be working in the daily affairs of our lives, and we miss it - or at worst miss Him? Wouldn’t it be ill-fated to have eyes to see, and miss the opportunity to see God at work. How about the chance of witnessing a loved one stricken with a disease walk out of the hospital, or watch a young child pray for His father who fell off a ladder, and survived? You know, it would seem better at times to be physically blind than to be spiritually imperceptive. It is said; that the average person with physical blindness possesses heighten sensitivity towards the need for others, human touch, and an incredible sense of acute hearing. I invite you today to remain sensitive towards what God is doing. He did promise to give sight to the blind. Matthew 9:27-30 27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” 28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. 29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; 30 and their sight was restored. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Breakspot

During the holidays I’ve always enjoyed pulling out the hammer or finding that double-edged nutcracker to smash through the hard shell of the walnut. Or, taking the time each day to crack open two large eggs and frying them “over-easy” to begin my early morning journey? Just like the egg, and the walnut sometimes we have to break through the hard shell of fear and shame to find the true ingredients of our worship. Most of us, unfortunately, express our most sincere acts of adoration when we are most vulnerable. When it seems that the future looks dim, and it’s hard to find reasons to give thanks - is when our spiritual resilience wrestles to find that light of hope which we need to guide us through each day. The Bible speaks about a woman who learned to surrender to God in the midst of her struggles. A woman wrestling to erase her darkened past - concluded by breaking an expensive bottle of perfume and anointing the feet of Christ symbolizing the fragrance of her best act of worship. If today, you find yourself struggling to find direction or hope don’t fight any longer. Just surrender to God, and allow for Him to take His rightful place as Lord of your life. Your total surrender may be the only act God is waiting for. Breakspot! Luke 7:37-38 37A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. 38As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and poured perfume on them. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Empathy or Apathy

Have you ever experienced a part of your anatomy going numb? Or, have you attempted to stand up from your seat while the flow of blood has been cut off from your limbs? Isn’t it the strangest, if not funniest scene to witness someone attempting to posterize themselves while balancing on what seems to be “two left feet?” So, it is when you and I are attempting to keep a straight face while spiraling into an emotional coma. Apathy is a silent assassin, and It’s almost impossible to be effective at anything if you and I are being desensitized or paralyzed by our lack of zeal. Most people who have lost any permanent loss of feeling is usually paralyzed or dead. So, losing the love for what you do, or anyone you love may put you in danger of an unexpected involuntary termination. Keep your spiritual fervor in place, and persevere under every circumstance so that you will receive your end reward. God desires for you to live with empathy, rather than to suffer from apathy! Colossians 3:23-25 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Not Forgotten

Like turning through the pages of an old photo album and looking at the smiles that once burn bright, or the replaying of an old video that reminds us of our youthful vigor - it is also good to give thought to the better days of life. Like one who may suffer from permanent amnesia, it is so easy to drift away into total forgetfulness and erase the wonderful memories that once were recorded in the center of our hearts. The Holy Writ encourages us to recall the goodness that God has bestowed upon us. Wether in present or past we all have been awarded a certain degree of memory so that we may reflect on what God has said, and what He has done. The many ways he has gotten us through our troubles or performed an unwarranted miracle. Matter of fact, the personalities found through biblical history always took the time to ponder on the struggles, weigh the process, and record the lessons learned. Do not permit yourself to drown in the discouragements of failures past. But, remember how in the world you made it through - because this to shall pass, and better days are ahead. God has not forgotten. Isaiah 49:14-16 14 But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.” 15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! 16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Beacon of Hope

Each generation before us and every generation after us will have the opportunity to encounter events that will define their existence, and influence the pages of human history. Stories of heroism, of bravery, and of unusual feats for which legends are made. We have been granted this special moment in the annuals of human history to leave our mark on future generations. To stand in the face of adversity, and fight the moral battles lurking to tare down what is innocent in this great nation. To gather the wood, and the dry leaves of the fall so that we may burn our torches bright in the face of our darkened winters. And, to await the light of a new spring for which summer calls out with its righteous passions. Let us stand, therefore, as believers that God will shine His love on us again. That we may be counted in the fight against good and evil. In the battle of deception verse the truth that sets every person free. For faith will always cling unto truth, and the truth shall always prevail! For the truth is not just a statement, but a person called Christ! Matthew 5:14-16 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Strange Love

For centuries the thought of UFOs and aliens roaming earth has been the center of controversy, and the main theme of conspiracy theorists. From “Area 51” to the most recent “Naval files” released - you and I can’t get enough of strange occurrences. But, right in the midst of our nation, there is another bizarre phenomenon occurring where a set of new ideologies are baffling the human mind. It would seem that the desensitization of our core moral principles is under attack, and in some cases under siege. There are a place and time when we have to ask ourselves “when is enough, enough?” The Bible is clear that there will be a set time in human history when we will experience a strange love, but not the love of God. Aren’t you aware that the moral principles of nations have been rooted in the fundamental truths found on the signature of two tablets? When we deem these rules obsolete or void we have abandoned the shorelines of ethical conduct. Remember, what you don’t permit on earth, will not be permitted in heaven. A Strange love. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Heaven on Earth

As a man of faith, I learned early in my years to pray the “Lord’s Prayer.” In one of the verses, when the disciples were learning how to petition heaven they prayed “Lord, let thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.” This verse, for the faithful, would seem to welcome an invasive power from on high to fill the earth. Is it possible for God to intervene and invade our lives, and what would that look like? Everyone wishes to imagine what awaits in heaven. That peaceful place where every faithful citizen may delight in an infinite retirement. A place where no sickness, disease, or tears are shed. The Bible actually gives us a small account of that when it states; “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.” Well if it wasn’t for “looney tones” it couldn’t get any more innocent than that. Why wait for the end of your life to receive these promises? God desires to collaborate in ushering in righteousness, peace, and joy into your circumstances. Don’t procrastinate any longer, and invite heaven to earth. Simply believe, and pray; “Lord I need your help, and I invite you to invade my life today. Take over my circumstances, and allow me to experience your peace. In your precious name, I pray, Amen.” Romans 14:17-19 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval. 19 Let us, therefore, make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Equal Opportunities

We all have been given equal opportunities to dream, to believe, and to labor at what our hearts cling to. To put into motion those things that are not, as though they were. Some of the greatest stories ever told have been lived by individuals who overcame all odds. A group of wandering nomads who weren’t handed anything, but simply had the determination to take baby steps into accomplishing their goals. It isn’t always wealth and fame that makes these people so special. But, their moral character, their commitment, and their loyalty to fulfilling their purpose in life. Some of them were dads, other moms, and yet other postal workers. It didn’t matter their titles, but it did matter their efforts. Some of their names may have never reached the height of the executive latter. But, their legacies will live on in the hearts of those they served. Success is not always what our society makes it out to be. You and I are considered a total success, in God’s eyes, if we leave this place better than what we found it. Everyone has an equal opportunity to do that. Equal Opportunity! 1 Corinthians 1:27-29 27 But, God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things - and the things that are not - to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Hard Work

Everything we venture to do requires hard work if we are hoping for it to succeed. Whether you are starting a new business or you are endeavoring to attain some level of higher education - it will require great discipline and determination to witness the end results. The world has no room for mediocrity, and neither does God. I’m sure you have heard it said; “you are either all in, or you are all out.” Devoting yourself to anyone or anything demands effort, and numerous amounts of sacrifices. We always find time for those things which are important, and we certainly are quick to venture out for anything that may bring us a sense of comfort and pleasure. So, while we are prioritizing our calendars let us find time to draw near to God, and keep our spiritual muscles active. It does take Hard Work to keep the faith! John 6:27-29 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” 28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” 29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: Eighteen Inches

The age of technology took the world by storm decades ago, and it has literally changed the way we do life all around the globe. From the moment the World Wide Web came into existence we have been programmed to access information at lightning speed. With the most brilliant thinkers leading the way for the next generation of professionals - we still lack one simple gap in our human evolution, and that is to produce Godly faith. Scientists and doctors from every research lab have found ways to solve or treat every plague facing our society today. But, were you aware that every adult, regardless of age, shares a common distance from the brain to the heart? You and I are literally 18 inches away from understanding God intellectually to experiencing God personally. Our brains may be swollen with information but our hearts are empty and in need of a transformation. The Bible tells us; “Today, if you hear His voice do not harden your hearts in rebellion.” For God desires to make His ways known to you if you just believe. Doubting is too trivial for such an intelligent group of people who claim “the sky has no limits.” Eighteen inches is all it takes to encounter God! Hebrews 11:1-3,6 1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 6And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • One Minute with God: New Mercies

Who wants to begin a new week with old problems? Or, who desires to confront a stockpile of challenges the moment you walk through the front door? If you are like most individuals who are responsible caregivers than you are probably starting off this day struggling to shake off those old retractable cobwebs that seem to stifle your joy and progress. In my years of ministry, it never ceases to amaze me how good we are at masking our personal limitations. I am sure you’ve heard it said; “when you don’t know what to do - at least act as though you know what you are doing.” Embracing your personal limitations requires a certain level of maturity, and asking for help can at times be humiliating. But, when humiliation has run its full course and you are no longer haunted by the sting of shame it will eventually produce the righteous fruit of humility. Give yourself permission today to not have all the answers to life’s most important questions, or to feel as though you have reached the end of the rope of solving every problem. When you finally embrace this spiritual topography you are now well-positioned to experience God’s infinite mercies. The Bible teaches us that the Lord’s compassion extends beyond a strong feeling of sympathy. But, rather He reaches down from heaven to do for you, what you can not do for yourself. New Mercies awaits! Lamentations 3:21-23 21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: 22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. #oneminutewithgod #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries
