  • Sounds of My Writings: Theology?

There are different forms and types of theology. Theology has been misinterpreted, misused, and in some cases misrepresented throughout the ages. If it is safe to say, in every generation, misuse of theology has given way to "religion", which has given way to "doctrine", which has "divided the Word of Truth", which has "divided the Church" which has divided God's people, and which has falsely distorted the sovereignty and nature of God. We must be very careful when studying "truth", one of the most important elements missing from this wonderful piece of literature is that we all need the divine intervention (revelation) of the Holy Spirit in both the student and teacher when studying theology. #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Sheep or Goats

When studying Salvation, it is important to consider all scripture before concluding whether a "Christian" can lose or forfeit their salvation. It is scripturally clear that God has completed the sacrifice for which salvation is granted, for all of God's work is perfect and complete. But, the question still arises whether Christians can lose their salvation? It is blasphemy to abuse the sacrifice of the cross, and belittle the grace for which we all have been saved by continuing to live in self-indulgence and sin. For, a "genuine" Christian, resembles the work of God's hands, His mercy, His love, His humility, His character, His likeness, His image, and of course His Spirit. When considering this issue, we must understand fully that a "Christian" is one who believes in his heart and confesses with his mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord (governor, ruler, king) and that he resurrected from the dead (Romans 8). This confession is not simply a dictation, or a verbal declaration, for even demons, will confess this, but an internal working of faith which has been proportioned by God, working through the circumcised heart of a believer. If in truth, "Jesus Faith", has settled within the heart of a believer, God and angels rejoice and the Holy Spirit immerses the believer in his truth. This eternal work shall not be damned by doctrine, but fulfilled by the truth. For a Christian, who has been filled with the Holy Spirit, will bear the fruits of the Spirit. This is denoted in the word "fellow" or "fellowship". Throughout scripture, we can see that God calls us "fellow workers", or that we may have "fellowship" with him or other believers. This word is rich in depicting the importance of remaining in Christ, for God sees our divine relationship, through the scope of us remaining in fellowship with him. For a "true" Christian is one who has forfeited his worldly relationship, for a divine one. This, in turn, will assure and secure his eternal reward. You can not have true fellowship with God, and still, come out looking and acting like the world. But, of course, this is finally revealed through time, and God will certainly judge the thoughts of the heart. Food for thought, What is the difference between a sheep and a goat? Matthew 25:31-46 31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ 41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ 44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ 45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Can Christians be Demon Possessed?

It is clear that after reviewing this wonderful outline of information, that the influence and existence of demons are prevalent in the world. The question though still stands, whether "a Christian" or a "Spirit-filled Christian" can be possessed by a demon(s). It is my contention, that in order to try to address this question we need to define what is a Christian, and what is a Spirit-filled Christian? A Christian can be defined as an individual who believes in his/her heart, and confesses with his/her mouth, that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that he resurrected from the dead. Romans 10 A Spirit-Filled Christian can be defined as a Christian (above), who has been baptized (immersed) and filled with the Holy Spirit, and who now has the Spirit of Christ dwelling in him/her. Acts 1:5 (i added some additional scripture below) It is hard to fathom that Christ would share his dominion with a demon spirit(s) if the believer has been filled with the spirit of Christ - and Christ has taken residence in his/her heart. For it is clear, that Satan himself was cast out of heaven when his great rebellion took place. It is important to understand that every Christian should desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit, in order to resolve some of the controversies regarding demon possession. I do believe that Christians can be influenced, and at times assist in acts of rebellion against God's work - just ask Judas & Peter. But, considering that these acts were performed prior to the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I must contend that it is hard to fathom that the Holy Spirit would reside and make his home in the heart of a believer and share his residence with a demon spirit. Just take into account the word "unoccupied" in the scripture Matthew 12:43-45. The evil spirit found rest in the home, which was unoccupied, not necessarily in order, or cleaned up. Food for thought. Here are just a few scriptures which is rich; Acts 1:5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." Luke 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" John 20:22 And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 8:15 When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, Acts 8:16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 8:17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. Acts 11:16 Then I remembered what the Lord had said: 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' Acts 19:2 and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." And the list goes on...

  • Sounds of My Writings: The Dove

One of God's soaring beauties, created by God's own hand. It has the ability to fly high in the heavens and it's innocence reveals the unspotted absence of sin in a believer's life. This by all means is one of the functions of the Holy Spirit in a person's life to sanctify, purify, and make Holy to the day of our coming Savior. For known shall see God unless they are Holy. For the Holy Spirit, himself is the breath of God and comes from the very essence of his holiness that is why he is called "Holy". Unwrinkled, for the touch of a Dove's feather, is like the soothing touch of those whose first love has not grown weary by the darts of the enemy nor by the pollution of sin in the earth. For even the sight of a dove is "pure" to the onlooker, and gentle in flight. For the Holy Spirit is a "gentleman" and he soothes the worries of life by his counsel. For Christ suffered, died, and was buried (sacrificed) in order to shed the blood necessary for the forgiveness of Sin. And as he resurrected he ascended to the highest heaven to send he "The Holy Spirit" to comfort and counsel you. For even the dove reflects the nature of Christ and the Holy Spirit that he would share similar characteristics in the act of sacrifice. #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Interpretation of Scripture?

Interpretation, as defined by the bibliology text, states that interpretation is subject to "the individual's understanding". It is vital to take into account that our understanding can easily be determined by internal as well as external influences. Most of the time culture, age, morals, values, emotions, academic training, opinions, and a number of other elements can easily form the framework (paradigms) by what we determine to be true. Our interpretations may vary from culture, place, and even time, but the truth is God-breathed and eternal. The Lord clearly states in his Word "your ways are not my ways, and your thought is not my thoughts." When receiving "revelation" God normally extends the borders of your paradigms and reveals the truth which will ultimately catapult you into a greater understanding of God's nature, plans, purpose, and message. Thus, freeing you from your own limited knowledge. Inspiration, on the other hand, as defined by the bibliology text states that inspiration is "the accurate recording of God's truth". This recording is an integrative work of God, working with and through man, to record without error his (God's) unveiling truth, a truth which is always accurate, authoritative, and revealing. In other words, interpretation is subject to error, but revelation and inspiration are eternally true and God-breathed. Coming from the very heart, breath, and nature of God.
